Lego Building Toy Sets
If your child loves Legos, you will likely purchase them many sets. For the short term, the little $10.00 Lego sets will often appease the child.
For the special occasions, there are much larger sets that cost over $100.00. A large set like this will usually be for a child over 8 years old. These Lego sets can take an entire day to set up. Many of these larger sets are very fun toys. One of the most recent popular sets is the Star Wars Death Star.
For the very young 1-3 year olds, you should look for Lego Quatro sets because they child won't choke on the parts.
The children that are 3-5 years of age will like the Lego Duplos. They are another large Lego block set that are large in size.
The more advanced sets are often of buildings, castles, cars, and construction equipment. One advanced set from Lego is the Mindstorm. Mindstorms are basically legos with robotic functions built in.
Technic is the most advanced of all the Lego sets. Technic uses studless construction that requires the user to think ahead in five or six steps. The advantage to Technic is that the sets can be very customized to create much better projects. Each Technic set will come with a motor and gears.
Finally, a less expensive toy for older children are the Bionicle sets. Bionicle is a creature that looks almost like something out of the movie Terminator. The half alien and half human creatures are powerful and scary.
When picking out sets, ask your children what kind of Lego people they like best. What they say, will be a great clue as to what to purchase.
